Barnsdale Lodge Hotel has been in Thomas Noel's family since 1760 and formed part of the adjoining Exton Park, seat of the Earls of Gainsborough.
Formerly a farmhouse, Barnsdale Lodge was converted by Thomas in 1989. The Hotel is positioned on the North shore of Rutland Water in the heart of the beautiful, unspoilt, county of Rutland, just a few minutes from the historic towns of Oakham and Stamford.
"Barnsdale Lodge's dining rooms have a convivial atmosphere and cosy decor that makes every guest feel at home. I really enjoyed the locally sourced fresh asparagus and trout dish, and delicious cooked breakfast. I'm not surprised Barnsdale Lodge has become a local favourite." Lea Teuscher, Food and Travel magazine. "Barnsdale Lodge is a Sainsbury magazine `Hot Hotel`, a gem of an old farmhouse with comfy sofas and a really friendly bar. Tons to do like exploring the 25 miles of walks around Rutland Water, then back to tuck into delicious food like sea bass fillet and crab with spring onion and spinach mash."
